The Department of Archaeology is seeking to appoint a part-time, two-year Teaching Associateship in Assyriology, from 1 September 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter, in order to strengthen and support undergraduate and graduate teaching in Assyriology. The Temporary Teaching Associate will be based in the Department of Archaeology, Cambridge.
The primary role of the Teaching Associate will be to support the curriculum in Akkadian language, specifically courses at the introductory and intermediate level. The Teaching Associate will also teach a portion of a Mesopotamian Culture module each year.
In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to:
Provide major input into the examination of masters and undergraduate courses, including acting as double marker for MPhil coursework submissions;
