These are non-tenure track positions. Candidates should have training, education and experience commensurate with that specialization to be taught, have potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Description Position begins August 2023. The Butler School of Music invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Music Theory with full probationary period, tenure track, as part of the Expanded Approaches to the Arts initiative at the College of Fine Arts at the University of Texas at Austin. The initiative seeks scholars whose research engages with underrepresented archives and repertoires in the arts and whose methodological or theoretical approaches expand traditional geographic and/or temporal articulations of artistic canons and/or traditions. The Expanded Approaches initiative places high value on inter- and cross- disciplinary thinking, public humanities, and creative practice components of a scholar’s portfolio.
