The Joseph Research Group is searching for postdoctoral or more senior candidates interested in computer simulation studies of intracellular spatiotemporal organization, biomolecular self-assembly, and soft condensed matter. The successful candidate will develop computer simulation approaches to understand compartmentalisation inside cells (e.g., formation of biomolecular condensates) and to leverage these findings for bioengineering applications. Candidates completing (i.e, with a confirmed defense/viva date) or holding a PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, bioengineering, or a closely related field, with a strong interest in biological systems are particularly encouraged to apply. We seek candidates with expertise in some of the following areas: molecular dynamics, Monte Carlo simulations, statistical mechanics, computer programming (e.g., C++, Python), polymer theory, molecular modeling (e.g., of proteins and nucleic acids), coarse-grain and polymer model...
