Description
The Desplan lab at NYU’s Department of Biology is looking for a highly motivated and independent individual to work as a Part Time Assistant Research Scientist.
Responsibilities may include maintaining the nests of the ant Harpegnathos saltator , dissection of ant brains and antennae, performing immunostaining and fluorescent RNA in situ hybridization using Hybridization Chain Reaction, and conducting bioinformatic analyses (including but not limited to analyzing single-cell mRNA sequencing data).
The jumping ant project in the Claude Desplan’s lab involves investigation of neuronal evolution, olfactory coding, and aging. For more information about our past and ongoing work, visit our lab website.
